I am not a fan of Michael Jackson or MJ in short if you were to call that but I

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - - A judge Monday removed Michael Jackson's mother as administrator of his estate as Los Angeles went into lockdown for a star-studded memorial service to which more than 1.5 million people were denied seats.

The acting mayor of Los Angeles said the pop legend would be buried at the city's well-known Forest Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday just ahead of the public ceremony, which will be broadcast live around the world.

On the eve of the service, lawyers for Jackson's 79-year-old mother Katherine clashed with two of the King of Pop's business associates for control of his estate which includes the Neverland Ranch and rights to Beatles songs.

A judge had named Katherine, who was close to her son throughout his life, as temporary executor of his estate shortly after the pop icon suddenly collapsed and died on June 25.

But in line with Jackson's will, which emerged last week, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff on Monday handed the estate over to attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain.

Lawyers for Katherine Jackson had opposed the motion to appoint the two men, citing a "conflict of interests" and questioning whether Branca had a current relationship with Jackson at the time of his death.

"Mrs Jackson has concerns about handing over the keys of the kingdom just yet. She feels it is too soon," attorney John Schreiber said.

However a lawyer for Branca, a prominent entertainment industry attorney, said his client had recently been rehired by Jackson and was well known to the family. The business partners will control Jackson's estate until a new hearing on August 3.

The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that although the free-spending Jackson died owing more than 400 million dollars, his assets outstripped his debts by at least 200 million dollars.

Those figures also do not include the huge sums likely to be generated by posthumous sales of his music and memorabilia, which have surged and are expected to remain strong for months.

Police are preparing a large-scale operation for Tuesday's service at 10:00 am (1700 GMT), warning fans not to show up at the downtown Staples Center arena unless they were among the lucky few with tickets.

"Stay home -- stay somewhere with a television, with air conditioning, with a friend," Los Angeles Police Department assistant chief Jim McDonnell said.

The appeal came after 1.6 million people entered an online lottery hoping to be among 8,750 registrants to win tickets for the service at the Staples Center and a neighboring arena, where the event will be shown on giant screens.

Noemi Bertoguo, 30, a traffic warden from Turin, flew to Los Angeles immediately after Jackson's death and -- to her surprise and relief -- beat the 183-1 odds to receive tickets.

"I have listened to Michael Jackson since I was a little girl," said Bertoguo, who gave her other ticket to an Italian student she met on a fan site as none of her friends would come with her from Italy. "I can't believe it."

Online classifieds site Craigslist and Web auction house eBay were removing offers of tickets, saying it was inappropriate for a memorial service.

Organizers said music giants Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder would take part in the tribute the enormously influential Jackson, who sold 750 million albums throughout his career.

Others due to attend include basketball legends Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson along with actress Brooke Shields, who dated Jackson in his heyday.

Acting Los Angeles mayor Jan Perry said Jackson would be buried shortly before the service at Forest Lawn, one of the city's best-known cemeteries which is the final resting spot of screen legends Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable and Jean Harlow.

As preparations for Tuesday's memorial continued, investigators probing the circumstances of Jackson's mysterious death are reportedly looking at the role of five doctors who prescribed drugs to the star.

US media, citing unidentified law enforcement sources, said investigators found the powerful sedative Propofol among a variety of prescription medications at Jackson's home.

Propofol is commonly used in hospitals to induce unconsciousness in patients before major surgery. Healthcare experts say it should never be used at home and should only be administered by trained anesthesiologists.

Amid the flood of tributes, one Republican member of the US Congress, Peter King, lashed out at the media for their coverage of the late King of Pop, saying they should pay more attention to US troops fighting overseas.

"Let's knock out the psychobabble. This guy was a pervert, he was a child molester, he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?" King said.

Jackson was charged but acquitted in 2005 on allegations of child molestation.

Resale Or DBSS

The Peak At Toa Payoh (DBSS)

The pricing for Toa Payoh DBSS is out.
Compare the prices betwen Bishan DBSS 4 rooms, the prices have
drop by 20k - 25k.

3 Rooms will be from 355K - 398K (70 Square Metre)

Indeed, DBSS flats are more expensive but looking at the bright side
everything is done and no renovation is needed unless there are certain
designs that I am fussy with :-) The price comparison between a DBSS
3 rooms and a 3 room resale flats is about 40K-50k more.

But the down side is that we got to wait till 2012 to get our flat and by
then I will be 30 years old. Not forgeting that we got to pay the 5%
in cash upon selecting the flats.

For example if the flat cost $380000; I have to pay in cash $19000

I am still considering whether to get resale flats near my parents
place at Ang Mo Kio or near dear's place at West Coast/Clementi

The Woodlands BTO results will be release by end of this month,
April. The ballot for the Woodlands flats was over demand against
the supply and I doubt we will be that lucky.

We might end up getting resale flat after much thoughts but I have
yet to speak to Gwern (The Boss and My Boss) about it. Since the
economy is down this year, this is the best time to get the property,
once the economy starts picking up, prices will start to move.

For resale flats, we get to move in early and do our renovation
and yet we got the flexibility to choose the location we want.

So as of current now, I really don know whether to get the DBSS
(it still voice down if we can get the flats after balloting) or Resale.

As what dear was telling me we go see see first for the DBSS.

The long Awaited 2009

Today is the last day of Chinese New Year.
Over the past 15 days of the Lunar New Year I have enjoyed myself with
my close friends and family members.

Our Daddy up there has really blessed me in abundance for the year
2008 and surely he will bless me for the year 2009. Of course there
will be obstacles that I would face on the way but it will be a training
ground for me to learn and groom myself in faith and strength

I will be heading for my kickboxing class next month. Yeah,
I am gonna work out.

I might want to get an Adidas workout shoes before my kickboxing
classes. I might go and take a look over weekends at Queenway
Shopping Center.

Things that I want to get done or do this year.

- Head to Club-med And Australia
- Learn a language
- Work hard Play hard

I will post some pictures on facebook soon.

Cut coffee intake for a healthier baby, says study

PARIS (AFP) - - Pregnant women should keep consumption of coffee, tea and cola to a minimum, according to a study published on Monday that sees a link between caffeine intake and low birthweight among babies.

British researchers recruited 2,635 women at between eight and 12 weeks of pregnancy, asked them about their dietary habits and monitored them for caffeine in their saliva at checkups.

Women who took between 100 and 199 milligrams of caffeine per day faced a 20 percent increased risk of having a baby with a relatively lower birth weight compared with counterparts whose intake was less than 100 mg per day.

For those who had an intake of 200-299 mg per day, the risk rose to 40 percent, and for those over 300 mg per day, it was 50 percent.

Birthweight is a widely used benchmark of health, especially for diabetes and heart disease.

An average cup of coffee contains about 100 mg of caffeine and tea about half this amount, although the concentration varies according to the strength of brew and the brand of the product.

Caffeine is also present in cola, chocolate, coca and some drugs.

The so-called CARE study, published online by the British Medical Journal, said "sensible advice" would be for women to reduce caffeine intake before conception and throughout pregnancy.

Previous research has found that caffeine easily crosses the placenta into the foetus, although the evidence for low birthweight has also been inconclusive and muddied by factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption.

This is the first study that also sees a link in tea, which comprised 60 percent of the caffeine consumed by the women.

On its website, Britain's Food Standards Agency (FSA) said it was cutting its recommended maximum intake of caffeine for pregnant women to 200 mg per day -- the rough equivalent of two mugs of coffee -- from 300 mg in the light of the study.

"This new advice doesn't mean that pregnant women have to cut out caffeine completely, simply that they should be careful and make sure they don't have too much. We would emphasise that the risks are likely to be very small," said the FSA's chief scientist, Andrew Wadge.

It has been ages since I really sat down and blog.

Economy Downturn, Financial Crunch, Personal Savings

Savings was the word that came into my mind for the past week.
I actually sat down on Sunday evening and plan how I will start
a savings plan for myself.

Angeline will make a point not to spend unnecessary.

She has enough clothes
She has enough shoes
She has enough accessories

Well, you know, when girls see something that they really like
they will tend to buy. As for me, I do consider buying something
before committing myself into the purchase but end up regretting
at times too.

I will need to get my MAC face powder at the duty free while on
my way to Hong Kong and one more pair of heals for Christmas.

When men see red, they see hot: study

I was reading the Yahoo news and I find this piece of news interesting.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - - The popular ballad "Lady in Red" is poised to take on a whole new meaning: a study published Tuesday showed that the color red makes men see women as hotter or, more scientifically put, more attractive.

Researchers from the University of Rochester in New York conducted five psychological experiments to demonstrate that the color red makes men feel more amorous toward women.

In the experiments, groups of young men looked briefly at a picture of a moderately attractive woman printed on a red background, and the same woman then on a white, grey or green background. They also looked at a woman in red clothing, and the same one in blue clothing.

The men found the lady with a red background more attractive, both physically and sexually.

Comparing the woman in a red shirt to the same woman dressed in blue, men said they were more likely to ask the lady in red on a date and to lavish more money on her.

As part of one of the experiments, as well, the researchers sought to see whether a group of women were similarly more attracted to the woman shown against a red backdrop than a background of a different color. They were not.

What the researchers call the "red-sex link" could have roots in humans' biological heritage.

For instance, among primates, females display more red on parts of their body when they are nearing ovulation, probably to attract the male of the species.

"Research has shown that male primates are indeed particularly attracted to female conspecifics exhibiting red," the study says.

To the authors of the study, University of Rochester psychology professor Andrew Elliot and post-graduate researcher Daniela Niesta, the experiments' findings confirm what "women have long suspected and claimed: that men act like animals in the sexual realm."

And, they added, the fact that men are more turned on by women in red also confirms that, although men like to think that they respond to women "in a thoughtful and sophisticated manner, it appears that at least to some degree their preferences and predilections are, in a word, primitive."

Lazy !!!!

It has been sometime since I have blog.
I have been lazy. Currently, I am not in the mood to work now.

I had an enjoyable past weekend.

On the 1st October, I went on board the Singapore Flyer with dear.
It was really a blessing that we got an empty cabin.
We had an enjoyable ride up in the sky.

I happened to bump into Cherisse, Melinda and Jason in town last
Saturday after my Birthday dinner with my parents and god parents.
After Gwern knock off from work, we caught a midnight movie titled
“Connected”

I was reading Meiyan bloggy and this quotes came from her bloggy
which her friend have SMS her.

"Guys marry their wives thinking they wont change but
they do. Women marry their husbands expecting them
to change but they dont."

"Women forgives but never forgets while Men forgets but
never forgives..."

I am not sure to agree with the above said statements or not.

I feel that when both parties intends to get married, both parties
should accept the good and the bad or rather each other strength
and weaknesses and not thinking how you as a husband could
change their wife or how as a wife could change their husband.

In a relationship, I believe that both parties should share their
views when they are unhappy with something and see how best
to deal with the situaltion. Both party could come into agreement
and not just arguing and cold war.

I still believe that women are genuinely soft in nature.

No Mood To Work !!!

I am not in the mood to work today BUT I am in the mood
to sleep. I did not catch much sleep this week as my great
grandmother passed away.

I just had a double-shot espresso earlier and I still can fall
asleep on my table. This cup of espresso is not effective......

I need to get myself a new umbrella as my umbrella spoilt
this morning due to the rain.

I was down for the Isetan private sale yesterday and YES Angeline
spent money again. Okay to people whom Angel hangs out with,
Please remind her not to SPENT money and SAVE the money
for her year end Hong Kong Trip.

A Happy Weekend

On Friday night, after dear knock off from work we went for dinner
/supper at Newton Circus .

On our way to Newton Circus , the strap of my heals tore apart.
Gosh how embarrassing, but put away the embarrassing moments
aside, Gwern was so sweet as well as his quick reaction by going
down to the MRT station 7-11 to help me get super glue to glue
back my heals so that I could walk.

On Saturday, Melinda and Jason met Gwern. We went to Big O
for some drinks and cakes before we went on our separate ways for
movies.

I had an enjoyable weekend.

Is the Weekends !!!!

I am rather bored at office right now cos my English class
students are out on a field trip.

For the past few days, the issue about AIA and AIG going
into bad debts made a bit hit in town whereby Insurers
wanting to close their insurance policy to minimise the losses.

I have been “cleaning” my wardrobe for the past few days
and I have cleared out some clothes that I don’t want or too
long already. Can you believe that I still can fit into clothes
which I have bought since ITE days.

Things that I wanna get:-

- A pair of Shorts
- Esprit White Bag

Sleepy

Time really flies and now it is the month September.

I wanted to get Esprit clothes for my coming birthday but when
I was looking at the collection last Saturday it seems like there is
nothing that catches my eyes. Actually there is an Esprit Bag that
caught my eyes, but not sure if I want to get it.

I will be invigilating the English exam tomorrow. I hope I don fall
asleep during invigilation.

Happy Mooncake Festival.

It is Mooncake festival today ;-)
Happy Mooncake Festival one and all.

Gwern made a box of mooncakes for me and my family and he
brought the mooncakes over to my place last night afterwork.

Since it was a Saturday night, Gwern and I decided to head down
to Geylang Serai to walk around and catch the Pre Hari Raya crowd.

I caught the movie, "Bangkok Rush" at Vivocity Golden Village.
This is my first time catching movies at Golden Village Cinema
ever since it has opened.
